Steve Foster wins the Grant Davis Memorial Cup
41 anglers took part in the 14th fishing of the Grant Davis Memorial cup last Saturday at the Jubilee fishery.
This match has become the biggest match in the clubs calendar, the one anybody wishes to win and to date this match has raised over £14,000 for St Richards Hospice in Worcester.
This year anglers donated to the fund to fish the match held on the Jubilee and Withies pools, a Barbecue and raffle followed the match, where friends and family of Grant were in attendance, enjoying the late summer sunshine and this year £680.00 was raised for the charity fund.
John Davis thanked all those that attended the special day and the match organisers, Steve Foster, Bob Evans, Mark Birbeck and Alan Gardner. John also thanked Ruth and Pat for running the BBQ and Mark Court and Martha for doing the raffle
Steve Foster, 2013 winner, won the match placing 50lb 0oz on the scales to win the Charity Cup for the second time from peg 14 on the Jubilee pool.
Martha Davis, Grant's daughter presented her fathers cup to Steve after the Barbecue, as she has done so for every year of her life.
Graham Scott also on the Jubilee pool, peg 17 was 2nd with 37lb 0oz and Mark Birbeck came 3rd with 29lb 1oz from peg 1 on the Jubilee pool.
Nigel Cox was the top weight from the Withies pool with 15lb 8oz
The day was a great success and special thanks much go to Ruth Foster and Pat Evans for running the Barbecue and keeping everybody fed well.
